Greenliant Joins Intel® Embedded Alliance – Addresses Market Demand for BGA SATA Solid State Drives
SANTA CLARA, CALIF. – APRIL 27, 2011 – Greenliant Systems, a leader in energy-efficient, highly secure and reliable solid state storage products, has joined the Intel® Embedded Alliance, reinforcing its commitment to providing small form-factor, ball grid array (BGA) solid state drives (SSDs) that are compatible with Intel® SATA-interface chipset platforms. Offered in commercial and industrial grades, Greenliant’s NANDrive™ combines an integrated NAND controller and the widest range of NAND flash capacities—from 512 MByte to 64 GByte—in a multi-chip package.
"NANDrive complements Intel® processor platforms used in embedded systems requiring reliable data storage with low power consumption," said Arthur Kroyan, senior director, marketing and business development, Greenliant Systems. "Our membership in the Intel® Embedded Alliance allows closer integration between NANDrive and Intel® technologies to provide a compelling solution for industrial, automotive, medical, security, networking and portable computing applications."
Available in a 14mm x 24mm x 1.95mm BGA package, SATA NANDrive SSDs enable smaller, more compact Intel® Atom™-based embedded systems that require fast performance coupled with excellent power efficiency and advanced graphics.
Intel® Embedded Alliance member companies are committed to developing modular, standards-based building blocks, platforms and solutions based on technologies, processors, products and services from Intel®. By aligning with Intel® and using standards-based, modular building blocks, Alliance members provide their customers with a full range of performance, faster time to profit, greater opportunity for innovation, easier software development and a trusted supply line based on the Intel® embedded platform roadmap.
About Greenliant NANDrive Products NANDrive manages all NAND flash complexities and allows embedded system designers to quickly integrate mass data storage solutions into their designs without having to make any firmware changes. Because NANDrive complies with ATA interface protocols supported by all standard embedded operating systems, designers no longer face costly, time-consuming host software revalidation cycles. To further ease system integration and simplify inventory management, NANDrive solves the compatibility and obsolescence issues of pairing a NAND controller with new NAND flash devices. As an integrated multi-chip package solution, NANDrive eliminates the need for long qualification cycles when there is a change of NAND flash technology; customers need only qualify the NANDrive as a mass storage subsystem.
